Double Trouble was developed by Bex Kwan and Sophia Mak for Art in Odd Places. A site specific performance, it was presented on Waverly and West 4th St in May of 2016. In this piece, two identically dressed trans masculine Chinese people walk down two city blocks towards each other at a painstakingly slow pace for 30 minutes. It created a surreal choreography of double-takes when a passer-by saw the second one of us. How can two people who are seen as the same develop kinship?
